Ivan Cedillo

Ivan A. Cedillo is a proud El Paso native with a deep passion for education and leadership. A graduate of Vassar College, Mr. Cedillo began his educational career in 2008 at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, where he taught Spanish—specifically native-level courses—and coached football and baseball. He served as the head baseball coach for his final three years at Smith, building strong relationships with students both in the classroom and on the field.

In 2015, Mr. Cedillo transitioned into campus leadership as an assistant principal at R.L. Turner High School, where he served for five years. He returned to Newman Smith in 2020 as the associate principal, continuing his commitment to academic excellence and student growth.

In 2022, Mr. Cedillo moved back to his hometown of El Paso to serve as a high school principal. Now, he is excited to return to R.L. Turner High School—a campus that holds a special place in his professional journey—as principal. He brings with him a wealth of experience, a student-centered approach, and a belief in the power of community and high expectations. Mr. Cedillo is honored to once again serve the Turner community and lead the next chapter of excellence.

Mr. Cedillo is married to his wife, Isela, and together they have four daughters. Their eldest, Abby, is a proud CFB alumna and currently runs track and plays flag football at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. All three of their daughters, Karla, Katie and Alyssa, are enrolled in CFB schools.

My name is Katie Palmer.  This upcoming school year will be my 17^th year in education.  I grew up in Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia, and taught English for 3 years in Athens, Georgia.  After those 3 years, I moved to Texas and taught English at DeWitt Perry Middle School for 12 years, 5 of which I served at the Language Arts Department Manager.  During that time, I earned my masters from UNT.  Following Perry, I was assistant principal for 2 years at Newman Smith High School.  This is my third year as the associate of Turner High School.  I also have 2 hilarious and beautiful children and boxer named Jax.  I am very excited to start this new adventure at Turner and to continue my time in CFBISD.

Hello Turner Lions!

My name is Andrea Napier and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Turner High School. Prior to coming to Turner, I was a middle school math teacher and coach at Vivian Field Middle School from 2015-2019. Then I transferred to Newman Smith High School as the Head Cheer Coach, AVID teacher, and 504 Coordinator from 2019-2022.

I was born and raised in Carrollton and grew up in CFBISD. I was a Blanton Bulldog, a Ted Polk Panther, and a Smith Trojan for the class of 2009. My parents and a lot of my family graduated from Turner so they are excited to finally see me in Turner Blue and apart of the Pride! I received my Bachelors of Science and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

I believe that each student can achieve high levels of success with the support of all faculty and staff. I am so excited to be a part of a campus that has a strong family culture to make sure all students are safe and loved every day throughout their academic journey. I am proud to be a part of the PRIDE!

I’m honored to introduce myself to you as one of the newest assistant principals of RL Turner High School. I look forward to being part of and building on the tradition and excellence that Turner has to offer. It is my 28th year in education and 23rd year as a school administrator. After I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors in Special Education, I taught for 5 years at middle school in a self contained behavior classroom (PAS) at LV Stockard Middle School in Dallas ISD. After acquiring my Masters in Educational Administration, from Texas A&M - Commerce, I became the Assistant Principal at RE Good Elementary here in CFBISD. Since then, I have served as Assistant Principal on several elementary campuses across the district: McLaughlin Strickland, Central, Kent, Blanton, and most recently Furneaux Elementary. Over the years I have had additional leadership roles as IB Coordinator at Good and Las Colinas Elementary and Summer School Assistant Principal and Principal . As an educational leader, I value building positive relationships that support academic and social growth for our students. I am so grateful to round out my career on a high school campus. After experiencing my own child cross the stage this past May, it has made me appreciate this opportunity even more. I have 3 children, all products of CFBISD. My oldest recently graduated from Creekview High School, Law Academy and is on his way to Texas State this August. My daughter will be a Junior here at RL Turner. She’s currently in the Veterinary Medicine CTE and has participated in the Fashion Design and Welding CTE courses. My youngest will be a freshman at Creekview in the Law Academy and Fire Academy and is looking forward to playing football and golf. I look forward to meeting all of you as we embark upon an exciting year!

I believe that teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts matters most. That philosophy has guided me throughout my career and continues to shape the way I lead, serve, and build relationships with students, staff, and families.

I am originally from Port Gibson, Mississippi, and I have dedicated my career to helping students reach their full potential through high expectations, meaningful relationships, and servant leadership. My journey in education has allowed me to serve in a variety of roles, including teacher, Director of Student Support Services, Assistant Principal, and Special Projects Coordinator. Each experience has strengthened my commitment to creating schools where every student feels valued, supported, and challenged to succeed.

For the past three years, I proudly served as an Assistant Principal at Duncanville High School, one of the largest high schools in Texas. During my time there, I focused on improving student achievement, strengthening school culture, supporting teachers, and removing barriers so students could be successful both academically and personally. I believe the best schools are built through teamwork, trust, and a shared commitment to excellence.

I am incredibly excited to begin this next chapter as an Assistant Principal at R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. I look forward to partnering with our students, teachers, staff and families to build on the great work already happening on campus. Together, we will create an environment where every student is known, challenged, supported and prepared for success beyond high school.

Education has always been more than a profession for me. It is my calling. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Alcorn State University, my Master of Education from Mississippi College, and both my Educational Specialist and Doctor of Education degrees from William Carey University. I am also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where scholarship, service, and leadership continue to inspire the work I do every day.

I am honored to be a part of the R.L. Turner family and cannot wait to work alongside this amazing community as we continue pursuing excellence for every student.
