Esperanza Sosa Hilts
Hello Turner Lions!
My name is Esperanza Hilts, and I am honored to serve as an Assistant Principal at Turner High School. Prior to joining the Turner team, I served in various roles across CFBISD over the past 18 years, including dual language teacher, instructional specialist, and coordinator on a national professional development grant supporting multilingual learners. Most recently, I worked as a secondary instructional specialist, supporting students, teachers, and school leaders across the district.
I was born and raised in North Texas and am a proud product of public schools. I earned my associate’s degree from Dallas College, my bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University, and my master’s degree in Bilingual Education with a focus on Gifted and Talented students from Southern Methodist University. I also completed the Principal as Instructional Leader certification program through the University of North Texas.
I’m passionate about creating inclusive, high-achieving learning environments where every student can thrive, especially our emergent bilingual students, who hold a special place in my heart. As a proud advocate, I currently serve on the executive board of the Bilingual-ESL Education Association of the Metroplex (BEAM) to support this important work beyond our campus as well.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Henry, and our son, Dominic. We waited 26 years for him, and he is truly the heart of our home!
I’m incredibly excited to be part of a campus that values community, connection, and academic excellence for all. I look forward to working together to make this a fantastic school year. I’m proud to be a part of the PRIDE!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to getting to know our amazing students and families!

Assistant Principal - Calvin Capps (Cr-Gr)
Calvin Capps
Hello Lions,
My name is Calvin Capps and it is of great honor for me to be joining R. L. Turner as an Assistant Principal. I served as an Assistant Principal at Polk Middle School for 3 years and at Bea Salazar before coming to Turner. This will be the start of my 13th year in education and serving in Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD. My background in education includes being a Behavior Specialist, PAS teacher and paraprofessional. I have my Master of Education from University of Texas at Arlington and my Bachelor of Business Administration from University of North Texas.

Assistant Principal - Austin Darnell (GU-MA)
Austin Darnell
My name is Austin Darnell and I am proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at R. L. Turner. Here’s a little about my background: after a brief career in the legal field, I spent two years as a Teacher’s Assistant and Language Lab Manager at the University of Oklahoma. I then spent two years at Crooked Oak Public Schools in Oklahoma City, teaching everything from 6th grade English to High School Russian Language and coaching Football, Basketball, and Soccer. I then moved to Texas and spent three years at Newman Smith High School teaching English as a Second Language and serving as an Assistant Principal for the district’s High School Summer School program. I earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma in International Area Studies and Russian, a Master’s in English Education from Southeast Oklahoma State University, and a Principal Certification from Lamar University.
Though I was born and raised in Oklahoma (Go Thunder!), I have called Carrollton home since 2022. I deeply value the sense of community and inclusiveness that CFB provides. My daughter, Cecilia, is also part of the CFB family as a student at Thompson Elementary. I am grateful for being welcomed into the Turner family and I look forward to a great school year with our young Lions!

Assistant Principal - Andrea Naiper (MC-Ri)
Andrea Napier
Hello Turner Lions!
My name is Andrea Napier and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Turner High School. Prior to coming to Turner, I was a middle school math teacher and coach at Vivian Field Middle School from 2015-2019. Then I transferred to Newman Smith High School as the Head Cheer Coach, AVID teacher, and 504 Coordinator from 2019-2022.
I was born and raised in Carrollton and grew up in CFBISD. I was a Blanton Bulldog, a Ted Polk Panther, and a Smith Trojan for the class of 2009. My parents and a lot of my family graduated from Turner so they are excited to finally see me in Turner Blue and apart of the Pride! I received my Bachelors of Science and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
I believe that each student can achieve high levels of success with the support of all faculty and staff. I am so excited to be a part of a campus that has a strong family culture to make sure all students are safe and loved every day throughout their academic journey. I am proud to be a part of the PRIDE!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me. I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year.

Julie Eich
I’m honored to introduce myself to you as one of the newest assistant principals of RL Turner High School. I look forward to being part of and building on the tradition and excellence that Turner has to offer. It is my 28th year in education and 23rd year as a school administrator. After I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors in Special Education, I taught for 5 years at middle school in a self contained behavior classroom (PAS) at LV Stockard Middle School in Dallas ISD. After acquiring my Masters in Educational Administration, from Texas A&M - Commerce, I became the Assistant Principal at RE Good Elementary here in CFBISD. Since then, I have served as Assistant Principal on several elementary campuses across the district: McLaughlin Strickland, Central, Kent, Blanton, and most recently Furneaux Elementary. Over the years I have had additional leadership roles as IB Coordinator at Good and Las Colinas Elementary and Summer School Assistant Principal and Principal . As an educational leader, I value building positive relationships that support academic and social growth for our students. I am so grateful to round out my career on a high school campus. After experiencing my own child cross the stage this past May, it has made me appreciate this opportunity even more. I have 3 children, all products of CFBISD. My oldest recently graduated from Creekview High School, Law Academy and is on his way to Texas State this August. My daughter will be a Junior here at RL Turner. She’s currently in the Veterinary Medicine CTE and has participated in the Fashion Design and Welding CTE courses. My youngest will be a freshman at Creekview in the Law Academy and Fire Academy and is looking forward to playing football and golf. I look forward to meeting all of you as we embark upon an exciting year!
