Meet the Assistant Principals

Assistant Principal – Mike Miller

Hello Lions,

My name is Michael Miller and it is my pleasure to serve as the Assistant Principal for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders with the last name beginning with A - D, for R. L. Turner HS.  I am beginning my second year at Turner.   Before coming to Turner I served as an Administrator at Newman Smith High School for four years.  As a teacher I taught math, primarily Algebra and Geometry, at DeWitt Perry Middle School for twelve years.   Educationally, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Harding University and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.

I am part of a CFB family.  We have lived in district for 25 years.  My wife taught elementary at Blanton and is currently a librarian at Creekview High School.   All three of my children attended K thru 12 in the district and my grandson starts Kindergarten at a CFB elementary this year.

I believe all students can and will achieve with the proper support and guidance.  My passion is helping students find their passion and grow in it.  And while helping students  graduate is important, my vision is preparing students to be integral members of a thriving community.

I cut myself recently and noticed an interesting phenomena… I bleed Turner Blue!   I am excited to be here and looking forward to working with you.  Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Assistant Principal – Andrea Godwin

Hello Turner Lions!

My name is Andrea Godwin and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal for students with the last name beginning with E-Le at R.L. Turner High School. Prior to coming to Turner, I was a middle school math teacher and coach at Vivian Field Middle School from 2015-2019. Then I transferred to Newman Smith High School as the Head Cheer Coach, AVID teacher, and 504 Coordinator from 2019-2022.

I was born and raised in Carrollton and grew up in CFB-ISD. I was a Blanton Bulldog, a Ted Polk Panther, and a Smith Trojan for the class of 2009. My parents and a lot of my family graduated from Turner so they are excited to finally see me in Turner Blue and apart of the Pride! I received my Bachelors of Science and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

I believe that each student can achieve high levels of success with the support of all faculty and staff. I am so excited to be a part of a campus that has a strong family culture to make sure all students are safe and loved every day throughout their academic journey. I am proud to be a part of the PRIDE! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me. I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year.
