Hello!

My name is Sommer Flores and I am serving as Turner’s lead counselor.   I am originally from Ohio and a proud graduate of The Ohio State University… Go Bucks!!  I moved to Texas in 2006 and taught at Dewitt Perry middle school for 12 years.  I received my graduate degree in school counseling from Amberton University in 2018. I have worked as a school counselor at Dan F. Long middle school and now have the privilege to serve our Turner lions. I live with my husband and our sweet pup named Sloopy.  When I have extra time I love to read, travel and cheer on the Buckeyes!

Hi!

My name is Daisy-Marie Higueros and I am privileged to be serving as the counselor for students with the last names starting with Ce-Gr. I grew up in Miami, FL and have lived in Carrollton, TX since 2017. I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology at American Military University and received my master’s degree in school counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I have previously worked with middle school students and have been able to bring those skills and experiences to the high school level. I absolutely love my job and am so proud to be a Lion!

My husband, a Turner graduate, and I have four kids! (Yes, I know that’s a lot.) In my spare time I like to serve at church, spend time with family and cheer on my Dallas Cowboys! Hello! My name is Marisol Nichols, and I am proud to serve as counselor for students whose last names start with Gu-Ma. I am originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX, but grew up in Farmers Branch. I am also a Turner graduate, excited to serve a community near and dear to my heart! I completed my bachelor’s degree in bilingual education from the University of North Texas and my master’s degree in school counseling from Angelo State University. I have been privileged to work in CFB schools throughout my educational career at both elementary and middle school levels and now at my alma mater, RLT!

I live in Farmers Branch with my husband, three children, and sweet dog, Clydesito. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with my family. Hello Lion Country!

My name is Suzanne Serris, and I have the pleasure of serving students whose last names begin with Mc-Ri.  I am from the Dallas area and am a proud graduate of the University of North Texas. Go Mean Green!! As well as being a certified school counselor, I also have my administrative certification. I enjoy traveling, sailing, spending quality time with family and friends, and I am an advocate of life-long learning.

I am passionate about helping our students realize their potential, experience success, and achieve their goals.  I am committed to providing the support necessary to ensure that all of our students graduate and are prepared for the next step in their journey.  I look forward to working with the wonderful Turner community this year.  Go Lions!!

Hello!

My name is Veronica Garcia and I am the school counselor for students with the last name beginning with Ro-Z. I grew up in Dallas, Tx and attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Tx where I received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I received my graduate degree in counseling and development from TWU in Denton, Tx. I have worked at the elementary, middle and now high school level counseling.

My husband and I have three children together that take up a lot of our time! We enjoy movie nights, being outside, and spending time with family. I am so excited to be at R.L. Turner High School and to work with the students, staff, and community that make up a wonderful high school experience for our lions!
