Principles of Health Science (9th)
This course is an introduction to the health sciences pathway that provides rigorous training in medical terminology, many hands-on skills experiences, team collaboration and many other foundational principles to build on as they train for a certification to be earned their senior year.
Health Science Theory and Pathophysiology (10th)
This course provides an opportunity for health science students to go deeper into the disease process, into the physiology of the various systems of the body as they experience disease and into working together as a healthcare team in studying how to help patients heal well. There is also a skills training component to this sophomore-level course.
Anatomy and Physiology (11th)
This course is a rigorous health science course in which students learn the intricate structure of the human body, as well as the complex processes involved in its functions. This upper-level course is designed to equip students to function more proficiently in their upcoming senior-level practicum as well as in their healthcare careers.
Practicum In Health Science (12th)
These senior-level courses are the culmination of our students’ time here in the BioMed Academy. The practicums provide rigorous industry skills training for our students as they prepare for their certification exams that will ultimately position them to gain employment upon passing and graduation. Students select one of the following practicums, as the enrollment in these is limited in size.
