Fashion Design 1
Fashion Design 1 introduces fashion trends, history, and explores the elements and principles of design as they pertain to fashion. Students will learn terminology, styles and applicability of the elements and principles. Also, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate creative use of inspiration and design experimentation through various projects.
Fashion Design 2
Fashion Design 2 offers students the opportunity to develop sewing skills, create clothing projects, and learn about the impact of politics, history, and society on fashion. They will also learn drawing techniques and discover various career paths in the industry.
Practicum in Fashion Design
Practicum in Fashion Design allows students the opportunity to further explore the fashion industry and the variety of careers available. This course includes extensive studies in fabrics, fabric production, entrepreneurship opportunities, marketing and merchandising, as well as advanced sewing skills. Students will be expected to develop an advanced technical understanding of the business aspects of fashion with emphasis on promotion and retailing. Students will also work towards earning a certification in Adobe Illustrator.
