Child Development 10th-12th
The course is designed to help students understand how to work with children as they grow. It explains how children develop mentally, emotionally, physically and socially from the prenatal stage through age 12. It helps students to understand why studying children is important, whether they become a parent or work in a child related field.
Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness 10th-12th
While nutrition is looked at as just being vital building blocks for our body, the class offers a lot more. The course is designed to focus on nutrient intake, meal planning, budgeting, kitchen utensils and appliances, our major resources (time, money and energy), safety and sanitation, foodborne illnesses, recipes and food preparation and food related careers.
Dollar and Sense 9th-12th
The course rationale is based on the fact that personal finance is 80% behavior and 20% knowledge. Teaching teens how to take control of their money at an early age will carry over into disciplined adult money habits. The course study will empower them with basic financial information and practices so that they can make sound financial decisions for life.
