The boys and girls golf teams played in the end of regular season district golf tournament this week. The boys team was led by Luke Lamb who placed 29th out of 63 boys.
On the girls side, Miranda Palacios entered day two 2 shots back from 2nd place and 3 shots back from 1st place in the medalist division. She needed to place 2nd to advance to regionals. Miranda ended up beating the two girls ahead of her but ended up tied for 2nd place with another girl from Lone Star HS who played well the second day as well.
The two competitors had to play in a sudden death match to advance to regionals. Miranda ended up beating her opponent after just one golf hole and secured her spot in the regional tournament next month. This will be Miranda’s 3rd trip to regionals in a row! Please congratulate the boys and girls for a great end to the regular season.
