Jan Jolliffe
Hello, my name is Jan Jolliffe, and I am one of your new librarians here at R.L. Turner High School. I began my library career in the corporate offices of Frito-Lay, have held library positions in several different public libraries, and have also worked with the Nebraska Library Commission as a regional librarian. Although I’m new to Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD, I’ve been a school library media specialist for 17 years now. This is my 20th year in education.
During my first semester of college I studied in London, England with the University of Houston study abroad program. I got to travel to many different neighboring countries and fell in love with the rich history, cultures and architecture of the different areas. I graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and I obtained my Masters in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University.
I have four children, three grandchildren, two mini goldendoodles, Norman and Rusty, and one Bengal cat named Leo. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, baking, gardening, reading, playing games and quilting.
I am excited to be here at R.L. Turner High School and look forward to helping all of our students with their reading and research inquiries. Always remember: "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup." Quote by Suzanne McMinn.
